I will preface this post with this; I am not a Stargate nut. I have seen the original movie, a few of the other ‘made for DVD’ movies, and collectively, probably, 10 episodes of any of the other Stargate television series.
With that said, I love Stargate. And saying that leaves me in a slight state of shock.
Activision Blizzard Inc. told the world Tuesday that Jason West and Vince Zampella, top brass executives at developer Infinity Ward, are no longer with the company. So what the heck is going on here?
Hey guys, it’s Monday and that means it is time to see how big of a consumer whore I can be. I saw a hell of a lot more people on XBL last night and today, so there must have been some big event. Like a leap year day that didn’t exist. GG Sony.
Read that topic again. Let that sink in. Now the first thing you’re thinking to yourself is “But wasn’t Speedy (and crew) considered to be a racist stereotype? How can they bring this to the big screen?”
Developed by Sivak Games, Battle Kid is apparently the first platformer to be released for the NES in 15 years. The official game description reads as follows:
“After having uncovered a plot to build a Supermech, you head to an ancient high-tech fortress in an effort to prevent this weapon from being completed. You must navigate through the various sectors of the fortress, while battling its denizens and avoiding its many dangers. Along the way, you will uncover items that will allow progress to new locations of the fortress and grant you new abilities. Over 550 rooms, more than 30 enemy types, and 8 bosses stand between you and victory. Also featured are five difficulty settings and a password system.”
The best fucking album of 1996 was Gravity Kills’ self-titled masterpiece. I mean, there’s honestly not a bad track on the whole album and it has that Stabbing Westward feel to it that only the Industrial Metal of that decade could provide.
Today’s track is “Enough” and was usually the track the band would close with in their concerts, I should know…I saw them about 7 times live and each show brought the house down. Good stuff, makes me miss the 90s…for about 5 minutes.
Alright readers, this is something I wrote a while ago when Geek Dad Report was only hosted on one site, and I think should serve as a good introduction ofthe column to MediaWhoreNetwork. Mind you it is fairly long, as I put a lot of heart and soul into the piece. I hope you enjoy it and the columns to come.
Ok, I’ve been a very vocal opponent against this game…because the DJ community and the music it generates is something that I hold sacred, very sacred. However, today I feel like I’ve been punched in the nuts because Daft Punk has been confirmed for the game. This is bad for me because I have so much love for the French duo that it’s not even funny, shit…I’ve even bought the Stardust single for “Music Sounds Better with You” because of their influence on that song.
Just wanted to assure people that watch (can be counted on one hand) that I haven’t given up. The thing is that lately I have rarely had an opportunity to record anything because I haven’t had the house to myself. It’s not as if I can even do one in the week as I am back in edumacations now. So the plan as of next week will be if I can’t do a Gibbo’s Corner on a weekend then I will do Weekend PSAs. That way something is at least being put out there every Saturday.
Not my usual kind of post but just wanted to make sure that anyone who cares knows what the situation is.
I can still remember the first time that I heard Rammstein on the Lost Highway Soundtrack and immediately fell in love. I waited with anticipation to be able to get their first American release Herzleid and when I finally did, had that bitch on repeat for weeks. I remained a huge fan of their work until their 2nd album was released and while ‘Du Hast’ was a great single, Sehnsucht didn’t really have much more to offer besides ‘Engel’.
It wasn’t until the Rammstein came out with their 3rd album Mutter that I fell back in love with the band. It had the same vibe as their first work, but seemingly with more story attached and a more diverse sound that showed the group had been taking their work a bit more serious. The track for today is “Sonne” and it is easily one of the band’s most creative works. See if you can’t just guess the inspiration for the video.
PAX 2009 is under full swing, and your faithful Media Whores are here to bring you all the latest info from the PAX show floor. Today’s first stop for me was Stardock, developer of cult hits Demigod and Sins of A Solar Empire. I’ll make no qualms about it, I’m a total fanboy when it comes to Stardock. Demigod and Sins are two of my favorite PC games from the last few years. Hit the jump to see all the awesome stuff Stardock showed.
The day of the new world order is finally here. Excremento, BPG, Ryan, Croc and King are now at their little “PAX”, leaving me, your new lord and master, in charge for the weekend forever. Vlambo could have stopped, but he’s too much of a lazy Canadian to do anything. Nikmonroe could have also stopped me but right now he’s sleeping with the fishes in “Amsterdam”. So, what will be changing now that I am in charge?
