This PAX, I had the opportunity to talk with the Design Director of Telltale Games, Dave Grossman, who is a personal idol of mine. Why’s that you ask? Dave Grossman was one of the core designers of the classic The Secret of Monkey Island, the game I attribute for getting into video games. He also contributed to the development of such titles as Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, Day of the Tentacle, and the Pajama Sam series before coming to Telltale Games. Today, he’s busy finishing up the latest episodic epic entry to the Monkey Island series, Tales of Monkey Island. Read on for the full interview.

Mortal Kombat 3? Warner Bros. is Pimpin Mortal Kombat Like a $10 Hooker
While we’re on the subject of live-action martial arts movies, I think it’s only fair that we warn you that a third installment of the Mortal Kombat movie series is set to begin shooting this September.
The information was leaked by none other than Scorpion’s real-life counterpart Chris Casamassa in an interview with the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. The eight-degree black belt and CEO of the Red Dragon Karate got his start in The Karate Kid as an extra and continued his work in movies as Scorpion in Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
I don’t know how many other people out there enjoyed the first movie as much as I did, I was about 20 times better than the Jean Claude Street Fighter, though the sequel (Annihilation) was just awful. I’ll wait to cast my judgment on the third movie, but if the movie trilogy curse has taught us anything, they’d probably be better off NOT making this movie, although I’m sure Warner Bros. is looking to make as quick of a buck on their new franchise as they can.
Tretton: STFU About Pricing

SCEA boss Jack Tretton wants all of you to lay off of Sony. He stated in a recent interview that he thinks that the PS3 is on the “right path for long term.” If you couldn’t hear that noise, that was the collective sighs of about 80 million gamers still clutching their PS2s waiting for the current system to come down a bit in price.

LucasArts Games on iPhone? Really?

Thanks to an interview with Lucas Arts CEO Darrell Rodriguez, Joystiq brings us news that all of the games listed in Gibbo’s post yesterday will be headed to the iPhone. Here’s the catch though, he couldn’t actually say that they were coming on the iPhone due to some stupid policy that Apple has about companies not actually being able to say that games are going to be released unless they’re actually ready to release.
He did say that “it would make sense that we would do something like that if we were to go in that direction … wink wink, nod nod.”
The only thing that would have made this statement even better is if he was to invoke Monty Python and give us a bit of ‘nudge nudge’. He also remarked in the interview that we can expect to see even more out of Lucas Arts when it comes to old and beloved titles with a cryptic comment he makes near the end, “[it's] just the beginning.”
