I don’t know how many of you out there in the land of MediaWhore are excited to see the new Jude Law / Forrest Whitaker sci-fi movie Repo Men, but after seeing this trailer today, complete with lots of blood and swear words, it’s NSFW mind you, I’m certain now that this is the movie that I want to go see next Friday on the 19th.
What do you get when you take Vampire movies, add a bit of realism, mix it up with some comedy, and then pepper the crap out of it with all sorts of rockstars that I actually admire? You get Suck.
Woodrow Harrelson has been on a roll recently. I’m being serious here, his role as Tallahassee in Zombieland will go down in history as one of the geek world’s best zombie slayers. There was that other movie he was in recently, The Messenger, that garnered him an academy award nominee. I don’t think there’s a movie he’s been in that I haven’t seen. I’ve pretty much liked the guy since he was on Cheers.
Considering I was a Tron fan when I was only 2 or 3 years old, I am very interested to see how the story of Flynn has panned out over the last twenty-something years. From the previous trailer that was released, we can see that he is in the computer world and his computer alter-ego Clu was destroying some hapless program who crossed his path.
Or as the rest of the staff are calling it, the “Iron Man 2 OMFGWTFBBQ” trailer. War Machine, confirmed. Nick Fury, confirmed. Gigantic-flashy-shit-blowing-up battles, confirmed. I can’t wait!
That’s right folks, it’s that time of year again where we all settle in to watch and see if our favorite won the prize. Of course, the big award is Best Picture, which has been recently expanded to a field of ten films from five. What also makes it interesting this year is that they’ve gone to a new voting system as well. Details after the jump.
Above is a clip from Murray’s appearance on The Late Show, where the talk was of Ghostbusters 3 and the video game that came out last year. The interesting thing here is that he restates that he would only be in the movie if they kill him off in the opening moments and then goes on to say that they’ve figured out a way to do so. Hey, it’s not a spoiler if it’s on national TV. Then again, can we believe Bill Murray?
Jake Gyllenhaal and his magical abs make another trailer appearance here. This trailer is more plot oriented than the last, but really, are we going into this movie to watch for the plot? Next question is: Will this become a series? Expect the movie to hit theaters on May 28th, just 3 weeks after Iron Man 2.
It’s been announced that “Shrek Forever After”, the 4th movie in the series will be shown off at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21st with the wide release scheduled for May 21st. It is also being announced as the final movie in the series, and I for one am happy to hear that. If only I had heard that after the 2nd one. Read on to hear me complain.
Read that topic again. Let that sink in. Now the first thing you’re thinking to yourself is “But wasn’t Speedy (and crew) considered to be a racist stereotype? How can they bring this to the big screen?”
This might very wll be the very last red band trailer for the upcoming movie Kick-Ass. It’s got blood, swearing, and some jerkin’ references so it might be NSFW for some of you out there.
Oh my…it seems that someone has finally made a movie that I could have never imagined being created. Yes, a road trip comedy featuring characters from the HP Lovecraft universe…and it’s actually set to come out on the big screen thanks to Dark Sky, sometime later this year.
I can only hope that the movie shows us all the face of Chthulhu so the entire audience can die of fright. Day one, my ass in the seat. Maybe with this, we’ll finally get a movie or broadway version of A Shuggoth on the Roof.
What do you get when you have a movie that has 7 characters, all of which have amnesia, don’t trust each other, are the last people alive on Earth, and are being chased by some demonic entity? I’ll tell you…high drama.
The British made movie “The Last Seven” takes place in a supposed post-apocalyptic England where there are only seven survivors left. The feature, directed by newcomer Imran Naqvi, is set to debut at Cannes this May, with a worldwide release shortly after…if it turns enough heads. More than likely, us Yanks will have to wait for the home version or a *not* downloaded copy.
Sometimes you Brits are lucky bastards when it comes to the cinema.
If you’re one of the fans of the Avatar universe (like me) news like this is exciting. Jon Landau, the producer of Avatar, revealed in an interview that James Cameron is planning on writing a prequel book to help answer some of the more nagging plot-holes and questions that, at least some of us, would like to know the answer to.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you your Academy Award Winner for Best Animated Film in 2011, Toy Story 3! The trailer was released yesterday and I’m just now posting it here at MediaWhore? Seriously I’m slipping! This trailer takes me back to those days when we first heard of the guys from Pixar. Who would have thought that they would end up running the show when it comes to quality animation when we first heard of them? Guaranteed, this movie will be effing HUUUUUGE this year.
