Not only does the game come out at that time, but so does the movie...it's like some sort of mega-movie-tie-in deal. Where have I seen this before?

The folks over at Ubisoft must feel like they have been teasing us long enough. They’ve finally released another video of their upcoming Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to satiate our appetites for new media. Lucky for us, there’s only a few months left before the latest version of the Prince of Persia franchise is in our grubby hands.

Apparently this game is made out of solid gold...plastic?

Got Stadium Events for the Nintendo? Yes? You’re about to be rich.

Xopher Reed Metroid: Other M – Trailer

Posted by Xopher Reed On March - 2 - 2010   ZERO COMMENTS | 3 views

Have you ever wondered about Samus’s past? Maybe to do with her time spent in the Galactic Federation? Well then, we have a treat for you kiddies. Nintendo was nice enough to share a new trailer for it’s upcoming epic, Metroid: Other M. I know it’s become cliche to say, but I’ll for sure be dusting off my Wii for certain when this game is released this June.

What you’re staring at (since I know most of you don’t know moonspeak) is the opening animation for Mugen no Frontier EXCEED Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, the latest in the Banpresto genre spanning game series and the sequel to the other DS game with an equally long name.

Coming from the Dutch edition of Nintendo magazine NGamer, it was today announced by Brizamila, Capcom’s distributer in the Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemborg), that the newly released Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth will not be being released in those countries. Talking to NGamer, Robin Wolff of Brizamila confirmed rumours which began when readers of the publication could not find the game in various shops in the Benelux. When pressed for a reason, he blamed the R4 device, which has appeared many times in recent years when it comes to stories about DS piracy. Wolff says that the R4 situation is so bad in these countries that it is no longer financially viable for them to distribute DS games in the country, so they’re not going to risk losing money against a device that is easily available. He also threatened the future distribution of Capcom DS games there by mentioning that there will be more and more pressure if Nintendo don’t do anything about the situation.

Xopher Reed Transformers: War for Cybertron – Trailer

More of this, less of Shia...I swear if I have to hear him do his 'nonononononononono' thing one more time, I'll scream.

The Michael Bay Transformers movies may not be the best movies ever made, I mean, the dialogue is atrocious, but there was one thing that he does really well…and that’s blow shit up. Transformers: War for Cybertron is going to be taking place in the ‘Bay-iverse’, taking place before the events of the first movie when the Autobots came to Earth. It’s got giant robots fighting each other…what else do you need?

Ryan Wilson Super Meat Boy NOT Getting a PS3 Release

Posted by Ryan Wilson On February - 27 - 2010   ZERO COMMENTS | 5 views

In under 140 characters, Team Meat from the highly anticipated and recently delayed Super Meat Boy crushed any hopes of seeing the game on the black box.

Dear All of the Internet: There will NOT be a PS3 version of Super Meat Boy.

This comes as a huge blow, as the game had been delayed initially to announce it was coming to XBLA as a “timed exclusive”, screwing over PC and Wii owners who eagerly waited for the Q1 2010 release that never came.  The game is now said to be coming “later this year”.

Developed by Sivak Games, Battle Kid is apparently the first platformer to be released for the NES in 15 years. The official game description reads as follows:

“After having uncovered a plot to build a Supermech, you head to an ancient high-tech fortress in an effort to prevent this weapon from being completed. You must navigate through the various sectors of the fortress, while battling its denizens and avoiding its many dangers. Along the way, you will uncover items that will allow progress to new locations of the fortress and grant you new abilities. Over 550 rooms, more than 30 enemy types, and 8 bosses stand between you and victory. Also featured are five difficulty settings and a password system.”

Gamers across North America will be able to get ahold of this on May 23rd. EU folks…probably sometime in 2012 because Nintendo sucks at localization for you guys, sorry.

Xopher Reed No More Heroes Paradise – Trailer

I'm not 100% sure of my Japanese skills anymore but I swear she's asking him to oil her up.

Wow, what I don’t know about current video games could fill a book, but I had no idea that there was a port of the Wii-tastic No More Heroes headed to the HD consoles until I ran across this trailer today. Looks like I’ll finally get my chance to join in on the action.

Xopher Reed NBA Jam – Not Wii Exclusive

internet matlockery ahoy! BOOOOMSHAKALAKA!!!

Check the screenshot (which has since been fixed). Looks like I won’t have to blow the dust off my Wii after all. Good, I’d rather play it on my PS3 instead of the Wii. I’m also glad that the gameplay will be completely 2D like all sports games should be.

Xopher Reed Red Steel II – New Trailer

sparse landscapes, minimal textures, hmmm must be a wii-exclusive

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the graphics in this game are great for it being a Wii game? I’d call shenanigans if I wasn’t so entertained about playing what might be the equivalent of Trigun: The Game. I am getting a strong “These are all the cutscenes” vibe from this trailer. Still looks interesting.

Brad Holman A new Star Fox game? That doesn’t suck??

Posted by Brad Holman On February - 16 - 2010   ZERO COMMENTS | 3 views

I know I’m probably admitting my inner furry with this statement but…..I FREAKING LOVE STAR FOX! Now that you know I’m completely biased, watch the demo below.

Yeah, I’m totally geeking out right now.

A group of independent developers are making a new Star Fox game, Shadows of Lylat. And it’s quite the team they have assembled…at least in numbers. Six years in development so far, if they ever truly release it, Shadows of Lylat will be free to play. Or at least it will be if it gets released before Nintendo shuts them down. Because, you know, Miyamoto totally has another Star Fox Assault/Adventure planned and making a Star Fox game where you – I don’t know, SHOOT SOMEONE – is just too difficult and not cute enough.

Xopher Reed Dead Space: Extraction Jumping From the Wii?

Even the title screen for this game looks low resolution...Wii=Fail

Today, Visceral Games has released Dante’s Inferno. What’s next for them? A few days ago, we wrote an article about them not wanting to do sequels to Inferno (though we know that Purgatorio and Paradiso will eventually come into being), and that they wanted to focus on Dead Space II as their next project. That may not be 100% true.

Xopher Reed Spore on Consoles?

Posted by Xopher Reed On February - 9 - 2010   3 COMMENTS | 5 views

stick navigation in this type of game hooray
Ok so what makes the people at EA think that anyone who has a console could even be remotely interested in picking up an eighteen month old game…let alone one that doesn’t seem to be that user friendly without a mouse. That’s exactly what they’re doing, and that’s not all.
