Mr. Penn…I say this with the utmost respect, shut up already. It’s been proven by my favorite fighter Georges St-Pierre (twice now) that you’re not the ultimate thing in the MMA world. I can understand that you’re one of the more recognizable faces in the MMA world and certainly for the UFC, and this makes you valuable for the game because of the people you’ll draw, but c’mon man…claiming that GSP cheated by having Vaseline rubbed into his body, that’s bad sportsmanship.

Released via Twitter, the Crackdown 2 release is set for July 6th in North America, July 9th in Europe. The Agents and Agency are back to combat a new threat to the city, and this time you’ll be doing it in 4 player co-op and 16 player PVP. Above is the new vidoc they released labeled ‘Fun with Friends’. I have been waiting for this one for a long time, and cannot wait to have more co-op hijinx.

As announced on the latest Major Nelson podcast, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling dropped the pricing bombshell. 1200 spacebucks, or $15 for five multiplayer maps. Of the five, three are new and two are remake maps. The map pack is scheduled to drop on March 30, the same day as the first map pack for Battlefield Bad Company 2. Only BFBC2’s map pack is free if you bought the game. Guess which one I’ll be playing.

Yesterday 2K released their first piece of downloadable content for Bioshock 2. The “Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack” contains an increase in the level cap for multiplayer as well as weapon upgrades, two new characters, trials and masks for the mode. This costs $4.99.  However, coming from the 2K forums are comments from customers who have downloaded the DLC and are now saying that the file size for the DLC is only 24kb, if the picture above, taken from the Games for Windows Live download screen, is to be believed. From this, the assumption has been made that the downloadable content is in fact already on disc, as when DLC tends to be this small, it is usually just a key for unlocking on-disc content. If so, then 2K are denying paying customers from content that they already should be able to access.

Update: In the same forum thread, 2K Community Manager Elizabeth has admited that the content is on disc as to not “split the player base” due to all parties needing the same content to play MP. Seems like a pretty stupid reason to me.

The only thing that could have saved this game series from becoming the endless set of repeated games with additional characters and modes (which I lived through with Street Fighter II, mind you) was adding in a character that could make the people playing laugh their asses off. They’ve done just that with Hakan.

I find it fitting that there’s a train in the trailer when I’m about to start up the hype-train for this game. Following the demo that came out a while back, the guys at Capcom have now released a trailer that shows a hell of a lot more than you’ve seen in the others and more than the demo could.

The guys from Remedy have posted a new game video featuring the titular character (heh, tit) in a fight for his life…versus an combine harvester? True enough Alan seems to be fighting the /EVIL/ piece of farm machinery with nothing more than A FLASHLIGHT.

Well, tonight is the night that many of us Final Fantasy fanatics have been waiting a hell of a long time to come, we North American gamers will finally get a chance to play Final Fantasy XIII. This all started this weekend when I got a text message from my local Gamestop notifying me that MY very own copy of the game will be available for pickup at precisely 12:01 AM tomorrow morning.

The folks over at Ubisoft must feel like they have been teasing us long enough. They’ve finally released another video of their upcoming Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to satiate our appetites for new media. Lucky for us, there’s only a few months left before the latest version of the Prince of Persia franchise is in our grubby hands.

Last week, we posted the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Trailer when it was finally announced through Bungie and it got some of us really excited, while it generally just annoyed people like Ryan and Brad. This video will probably end up annoying them as well.

Oh…my…this game has got me so excited. I played the living hell out of Fallout 3 (still playing it in fact). It may seem like they took most of the systems from FO3 and just copy pasted the code to New Vegas, but I can see some subtle differences that has got me squealing in delight.

If you have been sitting on the fence and thinking about buying a Xbox 360, sit no longer. March 9th, Amazon will be selling a new bundle that includes Forza Motorsports 3 and Halo 3: ODST for the attractive price of $299. I’ve heard great things about Forza and ODST is a great game. The only difference between this bundle and the other Elite packages is the games have been switched out for the Spring. You still received the black controller, headset, and a 120 GB hard drive for your gaming needs. The only thing missing from this offer is a HDMI cable which you can pick up for 5 bucks if you do your research. Now that I think about it, I might buy this and I already own a 360! I wouldn’t mind having a black Xbox to match the PS3.

For some unexplained reason, over the last couple of years…the idea of Multiplayer games just really soured my experiences with any game I was thinking of getting. Therefore, anytime a game that comes and shuns the industry standard of MP first, SP experiences second, I’m immediately interested. Vanquish just might be the game I’ve been waiting for when it comes to 3rd Person Shooters.

The upcoming blend of Monkey Island humor and Diablo gameplay, DeathSpank, may soon be more than a twinkle in Ron Gilbert’s eye .  Developer Hothead Games has joined forces with publisher EA Partners to  bring the game to both Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network this year.  An exact date, price, or PC release is still yet to be determined, but this writer is willing to pay any price to see the Grumpy Gamer back and making games.

I read an article today talking about how Halo will Teabag MW2 and thought to myself, “Do I really care that much to write up a response article.”
