MEDIAWHORE’S MISSION

MediaWhoreNetwork is the blog I started over a year-and-a-half ago to provide a haven for writers and readers alike who are simply tired of atypical sites that state news and topics involving only one topic. I didn’t want to be another blog that merely copied content from other sites and just provided a rehashing each others’ information. I dared to dream bigger, I wanted to become THE destination for the internet consumer who holds nothing sacred, has the amazing ability to laugh at themselves, and doesn’t mind the occasional bit of naughty.

I have committed myself to providing a platform for all aspiring internet writers who dream of having a website to call their own. I wanted to encourage a strong and diverse community of all sorts of MediaWhores, and for us to remain an ‘underground’ media site that panders to the hardcore. I know for a fact, that the more you involve your community in the daily ins-and-outs of a website, the more you’re likely to have a dedicated and feral fanbase.

I intend to publish daily content in the form of blogs, podcasts, and in our community forum; all of which must meet just one criteria…”be entertaining.” The only thing that I want people to walk away from my site feeling is that their time isn’t wasted and that you enjoyed your time here.

MY OBJECTIVES

Provide entertainment through news and provocative articles.

Build a strong and vocal community.

Allow the site to act as a soapbox for community and staff alike.

Piss off people who have forgotten how it is to have an opinion.

Teach that the internet isn’t serious business after all.

Share my love of Bearforce1.

THE PLAN

First, I’ll get a bunch of assholes disguised as writers for the main staff. These jerks serve as my minions and are the weekly feature writers and the biggest bunch of opinionated dicks that have something to say about everything that you can think of.

Next, I want the regular readers to crawl out of their holes they’re hiding in and leave comments and eventually escalate those comments into blogs themselves so that they too can see how rewarding it is to have people pay attention to you and hear your opinion. I know how good it feels to get something off my chests, it’s like therapy, just cheaper.

Finally, in the end, I will take over the internet, becoming a cruel yet fair dictator that rules it with an iron fist. There will be no more decency, there will be no quarter, I want to kill journalism! People will actually have to think for themselves, no more reviewers telling you with number/letter/character charts whether or not you’ll enjoy a movie, game, or CD. People will once again be forced to actually play games and watch movies just to see them, not because they ‘did well on ____ site.’

I could dream about doing this, instead I’m making it reality. Welcome to MediaWhore.
